Roger Wagner Chorale Kicks Off Japan Concert Tour

The Roger Wagner Chorale, under the direction of Jeannine Wagner, is taking off on a 14-day Goodwill Tour to Japan. This marks their first tour since the pandemic. Performing at some of Japan’s most prestigious concert halls, the Chorale will present an eclectic program including works by Tomas Luis de Victoria, Amy (Mrs. H.H. A.) Beach, C. Hubert H. Parry, Scott Joplin, Songs of Stephen Foster, Christmas Carols, Spirituals and Gospel.

The Roger Wagner Chorale was founded in 1946 by the legendary choral director Roger Wagner, who also founded the Los Angeles Master Chorale in 1964 upon completion of the Los Angeles Music Center. After Roger’s passing in 1992, his daughter Jeannine Wagner took over the leadership of the Roger Wagner Chorale, continuing his tradition of Goodwill Tours around the world.

In addition to her work with The Roger Wagner Chorale, in 1991 Jeannine Wagner founded the Wagner Ensemble under the auspices of the Roger Wagner Chorale Institute. Under her spirited guidance, the Wagner Ensemble celebrates and promotes the musical legacy of her late father, the legendary Roger Wagner. The Wagner Ensemble has dazzled audiences throughout Southern California and internationally in the performance of repertoire that includes choral masterpieces spanning the centuries from the Renaissance to the present.

I have served on the Executive Board of the Roger Wagner Chorale Institute since 2017 and also sing with the Wagner Ensemble. My activities include grant writing, social media and strategic planning.
