Grand Opening for Tallest Building in Long Beach

Developers Ledcor Properties Inc. and Anderson Pacific LLC, with their partners Qualico and Lantower Residential, are pleased to announce the Grand Opening for Shoreline Gateway, a 35-story, mixed-use luxury apartment complex in Downtown Long Beach.

A transformative project 18 years in the making, Shoreline Gateway marks Phase 2 of one of the largest developments in Downtown Long Beach. At roughly 400 feet and 35-stories, Shoreline Gateway is the tallest building in Long Beach, surpassing the Long Beach World Trade Center, and offering the last unobstructed view of the ocean.

Located at Ocean Blvd. and Alamitos Ave. in Downtown Long Beach, Shoreline Gateway is the companion building to The Current – the iconic 17-story, mixed-use, 223-unit luxury apartment tower on Ocean Blvd. developed by the same team. Shoreline Gateway is connected to The Current via a 10,000-square-foot shared plaza activated with premium retail and resident amenities, and a world-class art installation called “Neap Tide,” by Jud Fine and Barbara McCarren, featuring four 20-foot “totems” fashioned as Jellyfish and Kelp, along with two tidal/shore moon basins set in an undulating Riverine environment.

This project is the last of the former Redevelopment Agency (RDA) projects in Long Beach and has set a new benchmark for design and environmental sustainability. The two-tower development is the first LEED-ND (Neighborhood Development) Gold project in Long Beach.

Working with Shiny Object Co, I have been doing PR for the Shoreline Gateway development since 2014. After numerous challenges, it was thrilling to see this project finally come to fruition. Our public relations efforts garnered press in major publications and was featured on local TV stations.
